Achieving Excellence for Our Clients
Across Multiple Industry Sectors
Icarus light steel framing is capable of delivering a large range of solutions in the retail sector. Ranging from façade solutions through to standalone modular units and kiosks, the capabilities of LSF can stretch as far as needs be for a cost-effective and time appropriate solution.
We coordinated a scheme to build two five-storey sustainable office blocks, to house 1700 employees of Staffordshire County Council. Icarus designed, manufactured and supplied infill panels on a primary concrete framework with light steel architectural features. The development presented a number of challenges within meeting targets of sustainability, which was not helped by the location of the site – situated on a busy one-way road system in the heart of Stafford city centre. Icarus light steel framing made for a sustainable choice, as each of our components are 100% recyclable and waste free. Each delivery of parts to site were scheduled to arrive on a ‘just in time’ basis to minimise disruption.
Location: Flint North Wales
Icarus provided prefabricated infill panels, with external brick slip cladding applied in the factory, for popular food outlet Netto. All products were delivered and erected on-site for this rapid build small retail outlet. The Icarus prefabricated option also meant that there was a low reliance on finding skilled tradesmen in this rural area.
Client: BioRegional Quintain
Teesside based architects DKS approached us to help them deliver their ‘wacky’ competition winning scheme. The marketing suite, which now houses a large scale model of this ‘Community in a Cube’ together with a mock apartment, is the first project to be completed within the Will Alsop/Studio Egret West plan for the derelict docks site in Middlesbrough. The lightweight nature of our LSF allowed for a 10 metre span, modular construction technique, which embraced and delivered the designers ambitious vision.
Client: Yuill Homes
A bespoke design tailored to meet the Yuill Homes’ specific needs for a flexible, transportable sales office. The Icarus design team created a modular unit mounted on a mobile home chassis. The panel layout adapted for the walls allowed access points to the office facility to be moved so that it could be adapted for use on new sites – whilst keeping cost at a minimum.
